Train Calm
Under Pressure
For adults who feel tense, reactive, or stuck — and want to feel calm and in control again.
This isn’t a fitness class or a traditional martial art. It’s a training system for how you function under pressure — physically, mentally, and in real life.
Most martial arts train you to fight harder.
We train you to stay clearer, calmer, and more in control when pressure rises.
Because in real situations, the first advantage is not strength — it’s composure.
Shown on the world stage
In 2007, a Systema demonstration featuring senior instructors including Mikhail Ryabko and Vladimir Vasiliev was filmed during a United Nations–associated Discovery Channel production.
What stood out was not aggression or force — but something far less common:
- Relaxed movement under pressure
- Controlled responses instead of escalation
- Efficiency without unnecessary damage
- Adaptability over rigid technique
It challenged how many people think about combat training entirely.
Not technique first — state first
Nervous System Control
Learn to stay calm when your body wants to panic or freeze. Breath is the first tool.
Awareness Before Reaction
See more, react less, choose better. Situational clarity before physical response.
Minimal-Force Control
Neutralize situations without defaulting to damage. Efficiency over aggression.
Adaptability Under Pressure
No rigid patterns — only principles that work under chaos and uncertainty.
Real-World Movement
Standing, clinch, ground awareness, and transitions — without tunnel vision.
Decision-Making Under Stress
Technique only works when your nervous system is stable. We train the foundation first.
What makes this different
Most martial arts ask
“How do I win the fight?”
- Technique first
- Strength and speed
- Rigid system, fixed patterns
- Win/lose framework
We ask
“How do I stay functional, aware, and in control — without escalating unnecessarily?”
- Breathing
- Relaxation
- Awareness
- Decision-making under stress
Is this training right for you?
This training is for you if you want
- Practical self-protection without aggression
- Better emotional control under stress
- Physical confidence without ego culture
- Safer, smarter decision-making in conflict
- Long-term joint and brain health in training
This is not for you if you’re looking for
- Ego-based fighting competition
- Sport tournament preparation
- Aggression-focused combat training
We’re not building fighters first. We’re building people who can handle pressure without losing themselves in it.
From people who train here
Most martial arts are a branch of the whole tree. Systema is not just a derivative — it’s the tree.
Hadi Ali
I’ve trained in Kung-Fu, Kenpo, Kali, Thai Boxing, Hsing-I, and Tai Chi. Systema, of all the arts I’ve done, is the most unique. I love the mental characteristics it cultivates — a relaxed mind that keeps you in the flow state.
Thornton Chamberlain
Brad is one of the best instructors you’ll find. This style allows everybody to train together regardless of abilities or experience. This is by far the best hands-on training I’ve experienced.
Dale Goertz
I trained at Brad’s Systema school for 10 years and learned principles that have been very beneficial since moving away. I always am asked where I learned to move so well.
Mike Wurm
Brad is one of the best teachers and most effective communicators I have personally encountered in any field of endeavor. He conducts his classes with a unique combination of humor, wit, and genuine skill.
Systema Colorado Student
The highest level of skill is not dominance.
It’s control without escalation.
The Systema principle
Brad Scornavacco
Brad has been studying and teaching martial arts since 1984. He is a certified Senior Systema Instructor under Vladimir Vasiliev and has taught in Longmont, Colorado since 1998.
Brad doesn’t just show you what to do. He shows you why — and that changes everything about how fast you learn and how deeply the art takes root.
He is also the author of Systema Revelations and has presented Systema training to students and professionals across multiple disciplines.
